Early product
In 1964, DuPont of the United States first produced synthetic leather under the name of Coffin. The synthetic leather uses a synthetic fiber non-woven fabric as a base, a fabric reinforcement in the middle, and is impregnated with a polyurethane elastomer solution similar to the composition of natural leather collagen fibers. This projectile solidifies in water, and its solvent is replaced by water, thus forming tiny pores in the projectile. These holes are connected to each other, forming a tough and elastic microporous layer from the surface and the inside, which becomes the surface layer of the synthetic leather and forms a whole with the base. Due to the capillary action formed by the interweaving of non-woven fibers, it is conducive to the absorption and migration of moisture, so synthetic leather can partially show the breathing characteristics of natural leather. In 1965, Japan developed a synthetic leather with a two-layer structure and eliminated the intermediate fabric to improve the softness of the finished product. In modern times, there are many varieties of synthetic leather. In addition to the common characteristics of synthetic fiber non-woven fabric base and polyurethane microporous surface layer, all kinds of synthetic leather have different non-woven fiber varieties and processing techniques. Such as using styrene-butadiene or nitrile latex base impregnation solution to obtain a special combination between non-woven fibers and polymers; different structural levels, including 3-layer, 2-layer and single-layer structures; surface embossing and leather tanning process , Manufacturing suede synthetic leather, etc.
In 1994, it introduced internationally advanced production equipment and technology from Italy, South Korea, and Taiwan. With rich experience and technology, it produces and manages medium and high-end artificial leather, synthetic leather and polyurethane resin. The products produced and operated are of high quality and diverse colors. They are widely used in men's and women's shoes, sports shoes, casual shoes, labor insurance shoes, work shoes, fashion shoes, sofas, furniture, massage chairs, leather goods, leather bags, handbags, wallets , Certificates, stationery, balls and other sporting goods, gloves, belts, clothing and other processing and decoration; fully meet the needs of modern life, give vitality and vigor.
In 2008, after long-term research, the process technology of dry synthetic leather and wet synthetic leather was successfully developed, which ended the monopoly of domestic and foreign giants in the synthetic leather industry. Waterborne polyurethane technology was adopted in the fields of clothing leather and sofa leather. The production of synthetic leather suitable for high-end products has injected new vitality into China's synthetic leather industry.
Technological development
In the 1980s, there were many varieties of synthetic leather. In addition to the common characteristics of synthetic fiber non-woven fabric base and polyurethane microporous surface layer, each variety also differed. For example, non-woven fiber types and processing techniques are different; other substrate impregnating liquids, such as styrene butadiene or nitrile latex, are used to obtain a special combination between non-woven fibers and polymers; different structural levels, three layers, Two-layer structures coexist, and single-layer structures are often used to make clothing. In order to obtain different surface styles, in addition to the use of pattern roll embossing and kneading processes to make smooth leather, the surface of the microporous layer is also ground to make it velvety, which is called suede synthetic leather. In order to prevent the embossing of the flower roller from destroying the microporous structure, the transfer coating method (see artificial leather) is also used to make dry and wet synthetic leather, which is mostly used to make bags and decorations.
In order to meet the ever-increasing environmental protection requirements at home and abroad and the increasing health and safety needs of consumers, eco-synthetic leather is more and more favored. With the acceleration of the internationalization of the market, the output of clothing leather, luggage leather, furniture and interior decoration leather will maintain a steady growth. Mid-to-high-end, high-value-added microfiber synthetic leather for footwear and synthetic leather for breathable garments will grow rapidly as they develop and expand their application areas. The synthetic leather industry has a promising future. High-tech wet PU breathable leather and microfiber substrate will be the development direction of PU leather and synthetic leather in the future.
As an emerging industry with broad development prospects, the synthetic leather industry is increasingly favored by investors. With the development and progress of science and technology, high and new technology such as ultrasonic technology, electronic technology, microwave and high-voltage technology will be widely used in the field of synthetic leather. In addition, people are paying more and more attention to low-carbon environmental protection, and the synthetic leather industry will pay more attention to cleaner production and gradually develop in the direction of ecological synthetic leather. With the increasing market demand, the gap between supply and demand is increasing, and my country's synthetic leather industry is ushering in unprecedented development opportunities.
